Lab Visit…

Yesterday, my son went on a field trip from school. He was taken to a nearby higher secondary school, specifically to the science lab, so that these four-year-olds can get familiarised with the subject.

When I went to pick him up later, I was told most of the children enjoyed the visit and asked a lot of questions.

After coming back, all the children were asked to draw pictures of what they had learnt or their take on science or something along those lines.

The pictures were then put up outside class to the eager parents.

Most of the children had tried to draw a butterfly or a potted plant or earth and sun or an egg morphing into a butterfly.

The teacher had written down what each child had told her about his/her drawing.

The last drawing is what my son has done. Its nothing but vengeful scribblings with all the colours he could find.

The footnote says, “Monster & a boy. (Skeleton)” I have absolutely no clue what that means.

I know I’m supposed to view with an open mind and all that.

But I’m seriously worried for him…

That is so FUNNY! I love it. Take that, you over-acheiving 4-yr-olds! I can just see those prissy little boys drawing their plants and flowers and caterpillars. And your little one furiously getting the colors down on the paper so he can be done with this trite little assignment. 🙂

Exactly my husband’s sentiments! But I was a little worried that he’s not sticking to the given brief! 🙂

You tamizh ammas are so desperate to secure your kids’ futures.
I have seen desperate tamizh ammas send kids to dance class, paattu class, tennis class, cricket coaching, even handwriting class expecting the same kid to blossom into a Sachin Tendulkar, MS Subbulakshmi, Albert Einstein and Bill Gates rolled into one!!
Tamizh boys are the smartest and samathest (superlative of samathu :)) around, so you needn’t worry. 😛

Thanx!! Actually I’m not that desperate!! Or maybe I’m too lazy to chauffer him to various classes!! I just stick to school for now!!

looks familar! My kids still put out work that compete with your notion of your son 🙂 at 13 and 10!! At least you can still hope your son has some of your artist genes. Can’t go wrong between you and your husband.
Mine have no hope. Maybe they’ll marry someone with a lil’ bit of creativity.

🙂 All the very best!! You’ll make a great mom-in-law!!
